WHOLE WHEAT PASTRY, PASTA AND BAKING MASTERCLASS
This course is held at Green & Gorgeous flower farm where you will learn the benefits of replacing sifted white flours for more whole grain flours in your cooking and baking. This will bring more flavour, nutrition and diversity to your food.
You will be guided through the process of successfully making whole wheat pastry, lining and blind baking a tart tin correctly, ready for a savoury tart filling. Then, using seasonal vegetables and herbs harvested on the farm that morning, you will learn how to make a tasty filling that you can bake at home later. Learning all the tips and tricks to bring out the best flavour of your ingredients.
You will also learn how to make a nutritious whole grain biscuit, for a guilt-free afternoon treat.
Caroline will then demonstrate how to easily make your own pasta at home, using stoneground flour for a healthier and more flavoursome alternative to shop bought pasta.
Each participant needs to bring a 10/12" metal pop-up quiche tin, a lidded plastic container for quiche filling and a container for biscuits.
The day will run from 10am until 3pm, with coffee and biscuits on arrival. A seasonal lunch and handmade drink included.
