ABOUT
Hello and welcome!
My name is Caroline Pierrepont and Woden Cottage Kitchen is the outcome of over 40 years of culinary experience.
I grew up in South London with deeply rooted French family influences, which meant I was eating foods that were not commonplace on British dinner tables in the 1970's.
Some of my earliest memories were of my mother's orderly collection of Super Cook magazines, that took us all over the world with exciting new recipes using unknown ingredients and flavours. Or childhood visits to my Greek god family for lavish lunches and parties, greedily scoffing on home-made Kourabiedes. Cooking, hosting and sharing a love of food was always at the centre of my family life and so it was inevitable that I would one day become a chef.
Graduating with a City and Guilds in Catering and Hospitality in 1986, I went on to create and run two notable restaurants and an award winning delicatessen with my husband Stuart in our beautiful village in South Oxfordshire.
Life today brings new inspiration and meaning to my food. From foraging and fermenting to a passion for sustainability. Working with seasonal, locally grown produce can be unpredictable, but also very exciting!
My successful Flower Farm Suppers are held between early summer and autumn
at Green & Gorgeous Flower Farm in nearby Little Stoke. Here, I am able to demonstrate how I cook with beautiful vegetables, nurtured by selected organic or low impact local growers. This vegetarian feast is served at a communal table which is creatively decorated with freshly picked farm flowers.
This year, I will be adding some new cookery masterclasses to my portfolio, in the hope that I can encourage participants to embrace new exciting ways to add more nutrition and diversity to their cooking and baking at home.
Much love, Caroline x
